We should spent life in the service of humanity and the best service of humanity is to educate the poor rural children. .We believe that the real investment to see a substantial future of Pakistan is in working in ignored educational sector especially in rural areas of Pakistan .
It is commonly believed that children are the future of a nation but it is half of the truth. In fact future lies in providing education, training, character building & personality development in totality.
We believe it can only be done through committed teachers & with the help of a well thought value based education system. We all are witness that students are getting degrees from last 68 years, they are going to schools, a lot of governmental & private educational institutions are working but nation is not getting right results, especially our rural population is suffering badly in the absence of proper educational facilities. Hundreds of parents of boys & girls belonging to deprived villages are even unable to think how to grow & get updated knowledge for their children/siblings.
Pak Development Organization, with a very humble launch of 01 school in rural areas of Punjab in 2010, was the answer of prayers of those parents from our rural areas .Alhamdulliah after 14 years we are serving & providing quality education in 10 villages of rural Punjab.
During this journey it was not easy to survive & serve without the praiseworthy & commendable cooperation of our donors in Pakistan . It was not possible to translate our dreams into reality without their uninterrupted support in shape of adopting schools . They also supported us in shape of adopting orphans (we have 3000 orphans and poor in our school, and majority of them are waiting for this kindheartedness of more donors).
Education in Pakistan could be seen as the foremost important factor deciphering the fate of 160 million people in our country. The society as a whole is suffering due to lack of education, broader vision of life & values and prevailing intolerance in rural areas. Our society has deteriorated its values & norms just due to lack of awareness & education of youth. Now a days we are working & planning for rural school libraries costing only 2 million rupees, Hopefully some visionary donor will do this for our beloved children. Pak Development Organization is a Non-Governmental and non-Profitable organization aimed at providing as well as uplifting the standard of education in rural areas and stimulating moral values in the students for a better & successful life here & hereafter. It is PDO's utmost endeavor to provide quality and productive education to the children of rural areas of Pakistan. We hope that, one day; these children will help to build a happier, more peaceful and prosperous Pakistan. Our focus is quality education with Islamic perspective of education, teaching & training. We are moving ahead day by day to inculcate our vision in more than 10000 students of our schools. We are very much focused that our students must be reliable, truthful & committed to Ummah & Pakistan in future.

PDO approach to Social Development:
PAK Development Organization (PDO) has been working in the field of rural development since 2009.. The organization believes that access to education, primary health care, clean portable water, healthy environment and economic opportunities are the basic rights of the people. Since its very inception, PDO has developed a fundamental approach in social development while implementing programs in the social sector. The approach is based on participatory development, action & promotion of local leadership. The major emphasis in all PDO programs is essentially on the optimum utilization of local resources by involving human, material and financial resources and promoting community organization to implement assess and diversify these programs.PDO approach has been to organize the community, especially women, at the grassroots level and to facilitate capacity building and the institutionalization of community groups. This process of collective thinking empowers a community and facilitates their transition into a pressure group that exercises control, participates in the formulation of policies and demands the provision of its basic rights. Such systematization of the participatory approach also ensures accountability and reliable governance by the community. Another significant aspect of PDO’s approach has been its work ethic to work with government departments. Therefore, PDO facilitates the development of links between grassroots organizations and government agencies to take up low cost development programs within their own communities where the community provides resources at the tertiary level. The government at the primary & secondary levels, PDO provides the technical assistance, organization & management skills and training facilities for human resource development.
Community Services
No man cannot live alone in the world. We have needed our family, friends and the community around us in good times and bad. We often forget that community needs our help too. Small acts of kindness go a long way to bring a smile on the other’s face. Although its costs little yet it does too much. Based on this philosophy, PDO since inception is engaged in helping the poor and destitute people through various programs.

PDO Programs:
P EMEC School
To eradicate the illiteracy among rural communities
To provide quality education on non profit strategy
To increase the literacy rate particularly among women
To provide affordable or totally free, quality education to poor and needy children
School area: Village ‘Majju Chak’ including surrounding villages of Tehsil Nowshera Virkan, District Gujranwala (Punjab).
The organization’s goal is to uplift the existing socio-economic status of poor rural people. The basic education was the main focus of the organization as there were no proper education facilities for children in the village. After the survey it was concluded that the basic education is the dire need of poor people because the govt. had paid very little attention to this basic requirement for the children. In Village Majju Chak whose existing population is around 15,000, only two Govt. schools were established. For further education beyond the primary level, there was no facility available in the village, with the result the boys & girls had to go for further education to a govt. high school functioning in another village (Muju Chak) some 11 kilometres away from Majju Chak.
In absence of proper education facility the educational system was retarded. The reason for this was poverty, ignorance, unemployment, etc problems faced by people. The children instead of getting education were put on work. Secondly those, who admitted in the Govt. School, were forced to leave due to absence of teachers, physical torture and unavailability of books, etc. facilities. Keeping in view the existing educational status, the organization established a model school in Village Majju Chak in the name of “PEMEC School”. The Punjab Education Department registered the school on temporary basis for a period of two years but after some time, viewing the performance the school was permanently registered for five year. The school since its inception is functioning regularly and on demand of community was upgraded to high level as there was no such facility available in Majju Chak including surrounding villages. The community realizing the need & importance of education with specific to girls helped the organization and participated in establishing & up gradation of the school. The annual events i.e. Independence Day, International Literacy Day, International Women Day, World Teachers Day, World Health Day, Annual Prize Distribution, Parents Day, etc are celebrated regularly.
At present the total strength of students (male & female) is 388 studying in different classes from class prep to Metric. These students besides local are also coming from different surrounding villages within a radius of 4 to 12 kilometer. The surrounding villages are Kulewal, Dapay Pur, Shah Pur, Kot Nisar Shah, Serai, Mahal, Taliwala Dera, Herdo Uday, Lunday Sharif, Qila Mustafa Abad, and Tung Sado Pagala etc.
The school teaching staff comprises 24 female members. The empowerment of women is one of the priority objectives of the organization, as against the total of 24 teachers, 24 rural females have been employed as teachers whereas only five are males. The efforts from PDO lead towards the eradication of poverty and providing job opportunities to women at rural level. The school faculty comprises qualified & experienced staff. 11 teachers are masters in English and economics/Education, 8 female teachers are B.A; and the rest are F.A.
Computer Training Centre
PDO felt that besides the formal education, the children should also have knowledge and access to computer education. In order to equip the students with computer technology, a computer training centre has been established in the school functioning since 2010. The students are getting training under the supervision of a qualified computer trainer. The school staff also spares time to learn computer besides their routine academic activities. So far 350 students have availed computer education.
Adult Literacy
The PDO taking initiative, during 2010- 2011 established 15 Adult Literacy. Centers in the area (UC Majju Chak). Adults between ages 15-50 were motivated and got admitted in the centers for education. Each center had enrollment of 25-30 adults’ students and by the end of the year round 400 adults became literate to read & write the basics. For literacy centers established in different villages, accommodation was provided by local community while the teachers were arranged by NGO.
